"DRAVA CYCLE PATH" FROM SAN CANDIDO TO LIENZ
THE EXPERIENCE FOR THE WHOLE FAMILY
The Cycling path from San Candido to Lienz is an absolute highlight! From San Candido you can cycle towards East Tyrol and towards Brunico: The Drava cycle path takes you to Lienz in East Tyrol, the Val Pusteria cycle path to Rio Pusteria. With a city bike, trekking bike or an eBike you can cycle gently from village to village, stop at one of the cafés, inns and other destinations, enjoy the landscape, have a picnic on a meadow, rest on one of the many benches, and explore the villages. Return by train to San Candido.
The route goes from San Candido in Italy to Lienz in East Tirol. This part of the Drava cycle trail was the first to be developed and is currently the best maintained section.The cycle trail is almost always away from the road on the other side of the river and, because of its width and gradient, is also suitable for families with young children. Along the way there are several bus stops so that sections can be shortened if necessary. The route is well signposted and asphalted throughout. There are many opportunities for rest and refreshment along the way.
